Women in STEM
Friday, November 14, 2014
The purpose of this blog is to indicate the problem of women not pursuing STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) careers in the United States. This issue can be woven back to everyone since there is a constant trend of a male "geek" image that prevails for those in STEM. There are many ways to help, but it all comes down to the larger issue of a bias in our country. My paper expands upon the issue, the causes behind it, and the possible solutions. The reflection explains why I chose this particular topic for my paper and some of what I have learned in my Comp 105 class this semester. The NGCP link illustrates some of the statistics relating to women in STEM careers.
